About

Monireh Dabaghchian is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Morgan State University. She is also affiliated with the Cybersecurity Assurance and Policy (CAP) Center. She received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA in 2019.

Research Interest

Dr. Dabaghchian’s research lies at the intersection of cybersecurity and machine learning (ML). She is interested in studying and analyzing the threats, and vulnerabilities in IoT devices such as smart cars, and intelligent vehicle platooning in autonomous vehicles as well as ML security. She applies existing machine learning techniques and designs new ML algorithms with theoretical analysis to design effective and robust defense mechanisms to mitigate potential cybersecurity threats. Dr. Dabaghchian is the recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Research Initiation Award, 2021. Her research studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals including IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning and Neural Systems as well as ACM/IEEE Transactions on Networking. She has also received the PowerLIVE Faculty Award 2022 for her commitment and contribution to the student’s academic success.
