This ONE YEAR , on campus academic program is a cooperative educational agreement between The Department of the Navy and Morgan State University

The Navy/MSU Master of Engineering in Cyber Engineering degree is a part of the Navy/MSU Employment and Education program. First, the Navy will hire you as an entry level employee for one of their Engineering Commands and/or Naval Surface Warfare Centers participating in the program. The two Engineering Commands are the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) (www.navsea.navy.mil) and the Strategic Systems Program (SSP) (www.ssp.navy.mil). The specific locations for NAVSEA’s Naval Surface Warfare Centers are located in Panama City, FL, Philadelphia, PA, Indian Head, MD, Dam Neck, VA, Port Hueneme, CA and Dahlgren, VA. The Strategic Systems Program location is only in Washington, DC. The Navy requires the participant to be a U.S. citizen and to have a degree in a STEM field, preferably in engineering and/or computer science with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. The participant must be within one year of their graduation date. The participant must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.

The education portion of this program involves obtaining a Master of Engineering degree in Cyber Engineering from MSU. This program covers both the IP and Network, as well as, the embedded weapon control systems aspects of Cyber Security/Engineering. The program consists of the latest school of thought and concepts involving Cyber Engineering while including Cyber Certifications and “hands-on experimentation and demonstration programs”

This program will encourage professional development that addresses many of the challenges the Navy faces in the areas of cyber cloud vulnerabilities, hardened infrastructure, trusted electronics, hardened control systems and hardware and software resilience.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be hired as a Navy Civilian employee from one of the below agencies

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)  or

Strategic Systems Program Office (SSP)

Must be a U.S. citizens eligible to obtain security clearance

Must meet all MSU Graduate school requirements with a BS degree in a STEM major (preferably Engineering) with a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

A) Employment with the Navy

C) Full salary while attending the 12 month on-campus MSU MECE Program
D) Paid tuition and fees
E) Book reimbursements
F) Travel reimbursement
G) At least one Cyber Security Certification (Security Plus)
H) Hands on Laboratory and workforce application experience
I) Job Promotion upon graduation from the program
